Company History

Harveys Newcastle was formed in 1970, to cater to the increasing demands for air conditioning and associated industry, in this growing metropolis.
Harvey management identified an opportunity to enter the air conditioning market, at a time when it was in its infancy in Australia and the United States and thus Harvey Air Conditioning was formed in 1961 in Parramatta. It undertook some key contracts including David Jones, Parramatta Courthouse, etc, as well as domestic installations, through its agency with Carrier.
In 1967, Harveys was broadened to incorporate Centrifugal and Axial Flow Fan manufacture, these fans being required for industrial and mining projects. The manufacturing company became known as the Fan and Blower Company of Australia.
In 1970, Harveys Newcastle was established as a separate company. It was involved in the manufacture of sheet metal work and all air conditioning and dust extraction installations. Early projects included BHP No 2 Blast Furnace, Liddell Power Station and many telephone exchanges around Newcastle.
In 2015, Harveys Newcastle is conveniently located at Carrington, and is well regarded for its air conditioning and manufacturing credentials.
